Neat new homes to be developed by L&Q

Land at The Hyde, Hendon has been sold to L&Q for £32.5 million. Joint venture partners NEAT Developments and DTZ Investors obtained planning permission to redevelop the 3.6-acre site, currently occupied by a Homebase retail store and a used car sales lot, into an exceptional new build development delivering 386 residential units and 15,000 sq. ft. of retail, leisure and commercial space.

The residential component comprises Studio, 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom apartments, houses and duplex apartments, with 20% allocated to affordable housing, both affordable rent and shared ownership. Included in the commercial offering is a business hub catering to small to medium sized enterprises. The consented development also features significant public realm improvements, a GP’s surgery and a café fronting onto a landscaped public piazza.

The Hyde, Hendon will be a notable addition to the current regeneration of The Edgware Road, recently identified by Brent council as one of four ‘Corridors of Change’, bringing high quality developments, local services, improved transport and access to green space and leisure facilities over the next 10 years.

L&Q will begin work on site in summer 2016, aiming to complete the development by 2019.
